Grow Food Northampton

Grow Food Northampton is creating a just and resilient local food system that nourishes our community and protects and enriches the earth.

  • Land access and stewardship: we provide ethical stewardship of and equitable access to farmland so that people can grow food for themselves and our community.

  • Food access: we partner with community members, farms, and organizations to increase access to sustainably grown local food.

  • Education: we build community and facilitate opportunities for community members to exchange knowledge about sustainable gardening and farming, preparing and eating nutritious foods, and creating a just local food system.

  • Shifting power: we shift power to community members marginalized and harmed by the conventional food system and dismantle oppressive systems and structural inequities that act as barriers to participating in the local food system.

Your gift will help Grow Food Northampton to:

  • Support the ten farms and 400 community gardeners on the Grow Food Northampton Community Farm to grow food for themselves, their families, and our community

  • Conduct the Community Food Distribution Project that supports local farms by purchasing their fresh produce and other products and delivering this food to over 800 families and 2,100 individuals who are experiencing food insecurity

  • Provide SNAP Matching at GFN’s Tuesday Market and Winter Market farmers markets so community members experiencing food insecurity can more than double their spending power to purchase fresh local produce and other farm products

  • Provide SNAP recipients with no-cost CSA shares at Crimson and Clover Farm

  • Deepen and expand our education programming for kids and adults about gardening, farming, composting, and building a just local food system.
